City's Draft Proposed Budget Continues Commitment to Excellent Services and Financial Responsibility

City Manager Matt Baumgarten has shared the proposed draft budget for fiscal years 2024-25 and 2025-26 with the City Council, which reflects our continued commitment to delivering excellent services to our community while maintaining a sound financial standing. We’re proud to deliver this draft earlier than in previous years thanks to the commitment to improvements and hard work of our staff.

The proposed budget invests more than $35.5 million into our community through the City’s various funds despite strong economic headwinds, costly unfunded mandates from the State, and other challenges outside of our control. This investment includes maintaining funding for valuable resident services such as refuse, recycling, yard waste and curbside leaf collection as well as popular parks and recreation programs, water and sewer infrastructure upgrades, road improvements and much more.

Despite our many challenges, the proposed budget is balanced and continues to provide residents with the wide variety of City services and programs they have come to expect, including community priorities outlined in our 2021 Master Plan and 2023 Strategic Plan

City Council work sessions on the budget are scheduled for April 16-18, which are earlier than previous years as well.
