Berkley Days 2023 Planning is in Full Swing

Berkley, MI – February 27, 2022 – The Berkley Days annual hometown fair is only a few months away, and the committee has been eagerly preparing to commemorate the city's 100-year celebration. 

The carnival is scheduled to take place May 11-14, 2023. Plans for the event began last summer in August 2022. “With such a large event, it takes months of hard work from a small number of volunteers,” said Denise Downen, Berkley Days Committee Chair. 

Berkley Days is a 501(c)3 charitable organization and is one of the largest fundraisers in the community that benefits several nonprofits and service groups that also assist in the planning and operation of the event. Each year, Berkley Days distributes funds to partnering organizations raised throughout the four-day event. Last year, Berkley Days raised and donated over $28,000.

This year, the city of Berkley will be celebrating its centennial from its founding as a village. In honor of this historic event, the committee is seeking to raise funds to offer several new attractions to patrons. 

“The Berkley Days Association is looking to host for the first time ever a fireworks display to mark the city's monumental centennial year! Berkley Days is also working on bringing in a kids’ zone as part of the Saturday and Sunday entertainment,” said Downen. “The kids’ zone would have free activities for children, from tots to teens.”

Berkley Days is also happy to announce that “The Taste of Berkley” will return this year after a three-year hiatus. This affair will have some new restaurant samplings and a silent auction.
