Richard
Eshman began his career with the City of Berkley in
2002, after a 33 year career with the City of Detroit,
working in a wide variety of assignments. He retired
from Detroit at the rank of Commander, where he was
in charge of precincts with up to 200 officers reporting
to him. Having worked in law enforcement since 1969,
Chief Eshman brings valuable skills and expertise
to serve the citizens of the City of Berkley.
Chief Eshman earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration
from Eastern Michigan University and accumulated 32 post-graduate
hours in Police Administration at Eastern Michigan University.
Chief Eshman is a resident of Berkley and is committed
to ensuring the safety of our community.
