City Sidewalk Replacements Starts Begins the Week of June 28!

Beginning the Week of June 28, the City will start the construction for Phase 2 of the Sidewalk Replacement Program. Phase 2 includes the East (Section 2), Central (Section 4), and Southwest (Section 5) sections of the City.

The contractor for the program is Luigi Ferdinandi & Son Cement Co., Inc. of Roseville, Michigan.  Construction work will happen Monday through Friday from 7 AM - 6 PM, and Saturdays from 8 AM - 3 PM. 

The sidewalk replacement schedule is as follows (see map below for reference):

• Section 2
• Section 5
• Section 4

Residents/property owners impacted by the 2021 Sidewalk Program have already been notified in writing by the City. Sidewalk replacements have a tentative completion of October 2021. 

What does Phase 2 of the program include?

• Phase 2 program includes concrete slabs determined to be “immediate” (2 inches or more in vertical displacement), as determined by inspection and evaluation.
• If there are any in the "major" category (between 1/2 inch and 2 inches in vertical displacement) priorities adjacent to the immediate priorities, those slabs will be addressed at the same time.
