Ice Arena Demolition
Demolition Neighborhood News | Distributed 9 July 2019
Beginning the week of July 15, 2019, the City’s contractor, Inner City Contracting, will begin work on the demolition of the Berkley Ice Arena located at 2400 Robina Ave. The existing ice arena will be demolished, along with the horseshoe pits and select areas of sidewalk and pavement. Following the completion of the project, the site will be restored with clean topsoil and hydroseed. The existing senior center and Parks and Recreation Building attached to the ice arena will remain, as well as the existing fence along the eastern border of the site. The Contractor’s permitted construction hours will be from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, if necessary.
Traffic on roads near the site will be maintained at all times; however, there will be construction traffic present during construction hours. Every effort will be made to minimize any inconvenience to all area property owners; however, some degree of construction noise and dust is unavoidable and may be present in your area during construction hours. The entire site will be enclosed by a temporary fencing system during construction and will be under video surveillance.
Please obey posted construction signs and exercise caution around the work crews in the area during construction. You may receive additional flyers updating you on any issues that may affect you throughout the project. Your patience and cooperation are appreciated during this time. If you have any special needs, questions, or complaints not already addressed by this flyer, please contact the on-site foreman or one of the project representatives listed below.
